This is the Whistling Prairie (Bush Family Band) Christmas CD recorded in December 2007!

 

 

 

 

 

1. A La Nanita Nana–This traditional Spanish carol played on the harp could lull any baby to sleep. Amanda-harp and vocal, Crystal-viola and vocal, Judy-guitar and cello, Ed-bass
2. Walking in the Air–The theme song from the movie “The Snowman” was imprinted on our minds as Amanda watched the movie over and over in her youth. Amanda-violin, Crystal-mandolin, Judy-guitar, Ed-bass
3. I Yust Go Nuts–We’ve dusted off this song by Jorgi Jorgenson and updated the lyrics to reflect Christmas at the Bush home. Judy-accordion, Ed, bass and poem, Crystal-mandolin and vocal, Amanda-violin
4. Nativity Set–This medley contains March of the Three Kings, a French Carol, followed by The Shepherd’s Song from Amahl and the Night Visitors. Last of all is Hark the Herald Angels. Judy-banjo, Crystal-viola, Amanda-violin, Ed-bass
5. Star of Bethlehem–Amanda is featured on a vocal solo, accompanied by Crystal on the piano.
6. I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In–A heart-pumping rendition of the traditional English carol. Piano solo is by Brittany.
7. Pat-a-Pan–Hold your breath for this lively viola solo by Crystal. Amanda accompanies her on the piano.
8. Mary Sat A-Rockin’–This Gospel lullaby would surely keep the baby wide awake. Vocals are by Brittany, Amanda and Crystal, with Judy on the piano.
9. Go Tell It On the Mountain–This may be the first Christmas song the band ever played, but a song this good bears repeating! Judy-banjo, Ed-bass, Amanda-violin, Crystal-viola
10. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings–This arrangement by the Barenaked Ladies was a real stretch for us. We do it fully clothed. Ed-vocal, Crystal-bass and vocal, Judy-guitar, Amanda-vocal
11. Dancing Snowmen–We tried a few new things with this fun tune. Judy-dobro, Amanda-guitar, Crystal-bells, Ed-bass
12. It Feels Like Christmas–The Muppets summed it all up in this song from a Muppet Christmas Carol. Crystal-guitar and vocal, Amanda-violin and vocal, Judy -banjo, Ed-bass and voca
